It is with great sadness that the family of the late John William Barter announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville after a courageous battle with cancer on January 16th 2018. Leaving to mourn his wife Audrey, son Justin, four grandchildren Julia, Emma, Austin and Charlotte. Also leaving to mourn his brothers Simeon (Maisie), George, his sisters Effie Dominie, Elizabeth Morgan, Ada (Malcolm) Palmer, Frances Coley, his sisters in law Betty (Tony) Vokey, Mae (Ken) Taylor, Golda (Sidney) Harris, brothers in law Wilfred (Eileen), Guy Rindell and a large number of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son Rodney, parents Simeon and Victoria, brother in law Fred Banks, parents in law Leslie and Effie Randell, brothers in law Henry Dominie, Henry Morgan and James Coley. The family will be receiving friends at Russell’s Funeral Home on Thursday January 18th from 7-9 P.M. The funeral service will take place from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church on Friday January 19th, 2018 at 2 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation .The family would like to express great thanks to Dr. Scott Lamswood and the special staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital who provided John with excellent care. We would also like to thank special friends who waited and sat with us during his last few days.
