It is with broken hearts that we, the family of John Wells,
age 60, announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital,
Sydney, with his family by his side on Thursday, October 4,
2018.
Born in Sydney to the late Alonzo and Hazel (Hardy)
Wells.
John worked at the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board
for over 35 years. He also worked for Bargain Hunters Flea Market.
John loved golfing, camping and spending time with his family. He was
always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. John always had
at least one project on the go. Most of all, he loved his
grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara
(Ratchford) Wells; daughter, Melanie (Chris) Zablaska; son, Jonathan
(Denise MacKenzie) Wells and grandchildren, Zachery Zablaska, Summer
Zablaska and Bowen Wells. John is also survived by his siblings,
Lonnie (Shirley) Wells, Westmount, Steve (Ruthanne) Wells, Whitecourt,
AB, Alberta Wells, Sydney and Darlene (Leo) Campbell, Sydney;
brother-in-law, Rannie Redquest, Sydney; and many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Wells and
sister-in-law, Sandra Wells.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on
Monday, October 8 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will
be held in the chapel on Tuesday, October 9 at 2 p.m.,
with
Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Interment will
take place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape
Breton Regional Hospital.
