MORRIS, John Thomas – age 79 years-Portuguese Cove. It is sad for our family to announce the passing of our loved one on March 25, 2018 at the Victoria General Hospital following a respiratory illness. Born September 28, 1938 at home in Halifax he was a son of the late John & Theresa (Sherlock) Morris. He worked at the Port of Halifax “Grain Elevators” as a truck driver and later in the maintenance department, retiring in 1997 after 42 years of service. He enjoyed hanging with his friends at the camp, playing cards, four wheeling and watching Nascar. He was one of the founding members the Herring Cove Fire Dept. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, daughter Donna Flemming (Brian), sons, Michael, Roger, Donald (Agnes), five grandchildren Brianna (John), Jill (Dane), Tim (Ashley), Tyler (Amber), Colby, three great grandchildren, Abby, Aiden, and Lily, sister Bev Bobbitt (Terry), brother Brian (Gail) Morris, sister in law Karen Morris. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister Joan Therian, brothers Wayne and Glenn. No service and no flowers by request. In lieu donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
