John T. Flynn: Passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018, in the presence of his loving family, John T. Flynn of Lakeview, (Harbour Main), at age 73. Predeceased by his parents: William and Ellen and his sister Mary. Leaving to mourn with treasured memories, his loving spouse and soulmate, Shirley, his children: Michelle, (Mutale), Sheldon, (Val), Andrew, (Dianna), their mother Bernetta and grandchildren: Anderson, Alysha, Gregory, Daegan, Morgan, Matthew, as well as Shirley’s sons: Philip (Angelina) and Justin ( Allyson) and their children Madisyn, Chloe, Gabriella and Max. John was proud to be part of a large family and leaves to mourn his siblings: Michael, (Bernice), Catherine Flynn, Gloria Brazil, William, (Jean), Helen Hynes, (Bob), Mildred Butler, (Wally), Isabel Brazil, Joseph, (Dianna), Anastasia Hawco, (Kevin), Clare Batten, (Gerald), and Frank, (Anita) and their families. Also left with fond and loving memories are a large circle of extended family, friends and former co-workers. John was a man of great integrity and kindness. He was very family oriented, hard-working and superbly skilled with his hands. His easy-going personality made friends effortlessly. A lover of Irish music, he enjoyed song and dance, especially a “good old scoff and scuff”. John loved the great Newfoundland outdoors– the woods, the ponds, the ocean and the scenic hills of Lakeview, particularly Charlie’s Mountain. A good man and a friend to many, John Flynn will be fondly remembered and missed. Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 05 and Sunday, January 06 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm each day. Funeral will take place at 10:30 am on Monday, January 07, 2019 with Mass of Christian Burial from Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Harbour Main. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation in his memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
