It is with our greatest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Spivey.
John was born and raised in Kenora. He grew up on the East highway with his mom, often spending time at various tourist camps with his mom while she worked as a cook. John had a passion to fix and tinker with things, which led to his career as a heavy-duty mechanic. After many years of working in the field of mechanics, John later decided to become his own boss. It was at this point Spivey’s Husky was established. During his time at Spivey’s Husky, John found his calling where he could reach out to many customers and meet their service needs.
John and Stella eventually retired from this business and spent their time on their beautiful property on Longbow Lake. John spent many years enjoying this property while creating reasons to get out and drive his trusty John Deere tractor. John also spent his free time fishing, hunting, golfing, enjoying coffee with friends and family and attending his grandchildren’s hockey games.
John is lovingly remembered and missed by his partner Stella Patkau, previous wife Pat Spivey, three children along with six grandchildren, Cheryl and Chris and their three children, Elizabeth, Matthew, Alexandrea, Candice and Martin and their two children Kaleb and Riplegh, Angela and Karl and their daughter Maya. John will also be remembered and missed by Stella’s children and their families Donna and Russell, Dale and Debbie, Dennis and Maureen, Delores as well as many step grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents John T. Spivey and Anna Biczok as well as his stepfather John Biczok.

A Service in John’s honour will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm with a luncheon to follow at the Minis Hall.
