Mr. John Russell
Russell, John Henry-A resident of Chatham, passed away suddenly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday January 15th, 2018, at the age of 89 years. Dear son of the late Thomas and Ada Russell. Beloved husband of the late Elinor (2007). Cherished father of Irene Pelkey, Patricia Eastcott and her life partner Alfred Davis, William (Bill) Russell and his wife Carol, all of Chatham, Mary-Lou Kobrin and her life partner Mike Barnes of Tilbury, and David Russell of London. Proud Grandpa of nine children and nine great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by Marie and Bruno Hochheimer. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Philip (1999) and daughter Elizabeth (Jane) (2014). John worked for Navistar for twenty-nine years before retiring. The family would like to express their gratitude to the paramedics of Chatham-Kent EMS, and the wonderful nurses and doctors of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. At John’s request, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Cremation to take place, and interment to take place at a later date.
