John O’Brien August 7, 1929 – June 18, 2018
John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit and forthright approach to life. His unselfish ways and unique sense of humour made him well loved. He always made time to listen, was unconditionally encouraging and brought out the best in everyone. John was pre-deceased by his wife, Vera of 64 years and sons, John Albert and Kevin. He was the father of seven children, and leaves behind his son John and wife Meg of Kelowna, B.C., daughter Brenda of Red Deer, Alberta, son Michael and wife Jackie of Edmonton, Alberta, son Robert and wife Janice of Round Rock, Texas and daughter Vera of Whitby, Ontario. John will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Daniel, Sean, Katie, Keena, Christin, Mathew, Noah, and great grandchildren Ayzlin and Flynn. John, you will be forever in our hearts until we meet again. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
