It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Harvey Stewart (Jack) at University Hospital on April 20, 2018 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Blanche Stewart for 67 years. Loving father and father in law to Lynn Moffatt, Bob Stewart and Nancy Warner, Jo-Anne and Doug Heywood, and Calvin and Mary Stewart. Dearly loved by 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Maggie.
Predeceased by his parents Edna and Clifford Stewart, brother Jim and sisters Lillian and Helen. Survived by his sister Betty Miller.
John was born and raised in Clinton, Ontario. After graduating high school, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, stationed at H.M.C.S. Shearwater Dartmouth, Nova Scotia for 18 years. After retiring from the Navy, John became a teacher and served with the Thames Valley District School Board for 20 years.
A visitation for John will be held at MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 1559 Fanshawe Park Road East, London, ON, N5X 3Z9 on Wednesday April 25th, 2018 from 11am-12pm with a service to follow at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke or a charity of choice. Online condolences can be made at www.memorialfuneral.ca
