John “Jack” Benjamin Beam passed away peacefully at Wheatland Lodge in Leask, SK.
John “Jack” was born at the farm house on October 22, 1922 to Ben and Myrtle Beam at Kinistino, SK. He had one older sister, Hazel and one younger sister, Winona who was 11 years younger. He attended Norden School till Grade 10. In October 15, 1948 Jack Beam married Betty Stephen of Kinistino. They were blessed with four children, Robin, Cherey, Rebecca and Johnny. In August 1961 they moved to the Okanagan area of Lumby, BC and then also moved again in 1967 to the Caribou District of Hixon, BC. Here they established a dairy farm and beef operation which involved the whole family. A call for change came in 1978 where they moved back to the Silver Grove District in SK., 19 miles south of Shellbrook. Dad stayed at home on the farm until May 2017 and then moved to Wheatland Lodge in Leask, SK. where he resided until his passing on Good Friday, March 30th, 2018.
John “Jack” is survived by; his son Robin (Joanne) Beam and their children- Amy, Joshua, Caleb (Vicki), Joel, Josiah (Emily) and Melodie; his daughter Cherey Dean (Colin Gill) and her children Christa Dean and Amber (Justin) Johner and their children Casey, Tate and Tess; his daughter Rebecca Beam; his son Johnny (Lori) Beam and their children Joy, Anna, Benjamin (Jill) and Tomas; his sister, Winona Hanover, his brother-in-law, Roy (Doris) Stephen, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John “Jack” was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Beam, his parents; Ben and Myrtle Beam, his sister, Hazel (Manly) Rose, his brother-in-law, Gerald Hanover, his parents-in law, Emma and Otto Stephen; and one infant granddaughter Promise Rose Beam.
The funeral service for John will be held on April 7th , 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Shellbrook Pentecostal Church with Murray Hannigan officiating. Lunch will follow in the church hall. Interment will be in the Kinistino Cemetery following lunch.
