It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of John, November 6, 2018 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Katie (1995), Stepjan (1991), brother Steve (2018), loved brother of Walter (Marlene), cherished uncle of Kara (Troy & Baby Iliana), and extended family in Windsor, nephew Steven (Claudette), nieces Cindy (Steve) and Karen, their children and grandchildren.
John retired from Dofasco/Arcelor Mittel in 2006 after 32 years of service and maintained an active role in the community; a regular at Tim Horton’s, McDonalds and knew everyone on a first name basis. He was a member at the Burlington Senior Center, a member of the Croatian National Home (Hamilton) a patron at Aldershot Pool and an usher at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports, attending Finn Cup games back in the day, and Blue Jay home games, but his team was the NY Yankees. He was a friendly soul with a big heart and touched the lives of many.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, 287 Plains Road East, Burlington on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. The family would sincerely appreciate any memorial donations to be given to the charity/organization of choice.
