Asmussen, John Henry:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of John on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 93 years. Loving husband of the late Shirley (nee Caudle) (2011) for 59 years. Dear father of Cindy (Brian) Fergusson and Jay (Maggie) Asmussen. Adored Grandpa to Jennifer, David, Tim, Bri, Sarah, David and Paul and Great Grandpa to Joshua, Bella, Ellysia, Jacob and Hayley. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Phoebe (Kesselring) and a son Timmy in infancy.
John loved his family first. He was a very active business man and the proud owner of John’s Auto Centre for over 40 years for which he enjoyed every day of his working life.
John’s family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm followed by the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow. Interment at Weber Mennonite Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
