Born November 13, 1931 in Sunderland England; John passed
away at Guelph General Hospital on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the
age of 86 years. He was the beloved husband of the late
Doreen (2011). Father of Carol Mills (late Royce –
2015), Mark (Lilly), Glenn (Faye) and Bruce (Pat).
Grandfather of Jonathan, Natasha and Emily Mills; Cameron and Darion
Hendy; Tara and Amanda Hendy; Jacob and Adam Hendy.
Predeceased by his brother Peter, parents John (1973) and Elsie
(1988). If desired, memorial contributions to Col. John
McCrae Branch 234 Royal Canadian Legion or to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated. John will be remembered for
his service with the Merchant Marines, his long-time employment with
the Ministry of Transportation and his love of the open
sea. A private family burial took place at Eden
