Obituary Overview
John Deptuck
With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Deptuck, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Born near St. Denis, SK, December 1st, 1940, John was the 6th child of 11 for Steven and Helen Deptuck. John grew up on the family farm then attended the University of Saskatchewan obtaining degrees in arts and law. In 1967 he married Marlene Friesen and had three sons, Bob, Jeff and James. After the passing of Marlene in 2000, John found new love with Shony and they have been a strong, inseparable couple since.
John spent his life in service of others through his accounting business, numerous organizations and clubs. Long-time dedicated service to the Knights of Columbus and the Bridge City Umpires, curling clubs, the church, and visiting with his coffee crew filled his days.
John is survived by his wife Shony, three sons Bob (Raelene), Jeff (Angie), and James (Maria) along with five grandchildren, Connor, Hannah, Grace, Matthew, and Markus.
Vigil for John will held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at The Cathedral of the Holy Family 123 Nelson Road.
