Johannes “John” Peter Poel peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital at the age of 91.
Beloved husband of 63 years to Nellie Poel. Loving father of John (Janet), Jerry (Marilyn), Jeff, Jason (Janice). Also missed by his grandchildren Matt (Taryn), Michelle (Jeff), Tom (Lauren), Kevin (Kendra), Jake, Elliott and great grandchildren Kayla, Carter, Emma, Jack. Predeceased by his daughter Dr. Margaret “Meg” Poel (2017), son Jim (1976); grandson Andy (2009). Survived by his sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law from Holland and Canada.
Friends will be received at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. S. St. Marys, on Thursday, Sept 6, from 3 – 5 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY NAME OF MARY PARISH, Northeast corner of Peel St. N. and Widder St. E. St. Marys, on Friday, Sept 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Philip Joseph. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
