BERTRAND, Joan Inez October 31st, 1935 – December 25th, 2018
Joan was born on her Dad’s homestead with a midwife near Fir Mountain, 12 miles north of the Montana border in Saskatchewan. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Henry; her 3 beautiful daughters and their husbands: Joanne and Al Herman of Saskatchewan, Michelle and Joe Szauer of Victoria, and Jacqueline and Dave Nikolejsin of Victoria. They have 7 grandchildren; Jason and Jennifer, Matthew and Jordan, and Alison, Jocelyn and Kristen; and 2 great grandchildren, Tynan and Nicole. She is also survived by her sisters Lillian Morrison of Stoney Plain, Alberta and Carol Waters of Nelson, BC. Joan’s greatest pride was her family. She passed away peacefully at home on her favourite day of the year, Christmas, surrounded by her immediate family. There will be a small gathering with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Victoria Hospice on Joan’s behalf.
