Jesara Nichol passed away on Monday December 17, 2018 at the age of 24 years old. We are devastated to say goodbye to our Jesara, who passed away suddenly from complications with pneumonia.
She lit up every room she entered. Jesara was poised, confident and friendly. We will miss her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and her caring way. She packed a lot into her 24 years. She loved to sing, dance and act. Jesara performed with the Young Canadians for 4 years. She loved camping trips with her friends and family. Jesara also volunteered at Pioneer Ranch Camp for several summers. She travelled to Los Cabos, LA, San Diego, the coast of Oregon and last year, New Orleans with her boyfriend Matt.
Jesara graduated from the Central Memorial Performing Arts Program in 2012. She went on to study psychology at the University of Lethbridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in 2017. During her time at university, Jesara worked as an RA, taking care of a floor of students in residence. That’s what Jesara did… she took care of others. Upon graduating she worked briefly for Canadian Mental Health before accepting a position at U of L as a Resident Life and Education Co-Ordinator. Jesara loved her job and her amazing bosses, Auburn Phillips and Steve Brodrick.
She was the only child of Earle Nichol and Nancy Mason-Nichol. Jesara is survived by them; her grandmother Jeni Mason; Nana and Grandpa, Isabelle and Ed Nichol; Uncle Steve Mason (Cheryl), and Uncle Wayne Nichol (Darlene); cousins, Alara and Tayah Nichol, Pat, Brent, Emily and Breanna Sutton; and Great Aunt Josephine Lampel. She is also survived by the love of her life, Matt Dimaulo, and his family; best friend Tesla Pinel; Godparents Phil and Donna Bruch; and “close as cousins”, Marisa, Molly and Timm Bruch, and Colleen and Nicole Burnett; as well as numerous friends and relatives. Jesara loved you all. She is predeceased by “Poppa Frank” Mason and her Great Uncle John Lampel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24 St SW) on December 22, 2018 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Cristino Bouvette presiding.
