Jerome Stuart Burke
Burke, Jerome Stuart, age 68, of Lakeside, passed away on October 30th, 2018 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Arichat, he was a son of Mary (MacDonald) Burke/Matthews and the late Thomas Matthews.
Jerome was true craftsman. He was a skilled carpenter, and a problem solver.
He was a great father. He loved his family and friends.
Jerome is survived by his daughter Denise (Chuck) Dorey; step-son D.J. Boudreau; grandsons, Devon, Tyler and Riley; former wife Heather Burke and long-time companion Eileen Boudreau.
He is also survived by his siblings, Gerard Burke, Vince Burke, Terry Matthews, Dougald Matthews, Debbie Matthews, Thomas Matthews, Hubert Matthews, Clarissa Matthews, Lawrence Matthews, Sheila Matthews, Martin Matthews, Audrey Matthews and Colleen Matthews; and many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his friends, James, Gordon, Robert and Bruce and many more.
Jerome was predeceased by his sons Stuart Burke, and Joseph “Cory” Burke; sister Edna Matthews; brother Donald Matthews.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday November 6th in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Nova Scotia.
