Jean McNeil, aged 70, of Osgoode, died peacefully in her home on Saturday December 8, 2018. Beloved wife of Gordon McNeil for 46 years. Loving mother of Jennifer (Scott), Jonathan (Shelby), Sarah (Nathan) and David. Adored nana of Harley Grace and Asher James. Dear daughter of the late Joseph and Viola Beland (nee Steele). Survived by her seven siblings Muriel Fior, Pearl Beland, Orval Beland (Bev), Gerard Beland (Linda), Cora Brooks (Dave), Edwin Beland (Barbara), Carl Beland (Cathy); and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Jean’s life was a beautiful reflection of her strong and steadfast faith. She cherished her relationships; her family, friends, colleagues and the many patients she cared for as a nurse experienced first hand her compassion, kindness, empathy and love. She was an avid gardener who loved to enjoy her flowers.
The family gives their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate care of Dr. Wylam Faught and his oncology team, the wonderful caregivers at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, and the exceptional homecare from Dr. Stephannie MacDonell, Dr. Terry Brennan and the nurses, Jenna and Sarah, from Saint Elizabeth Health.
Please join Jean’s family for a visitation at the Kars Chapel of Tubman s, 1610 Roger Stevens Drive, Kars, ON on Thursday December 13th from 1pm – 3pm and 6pm – 8pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Leonard Roman Catholic Parish, 5332 Long Island Rd, Manotick, Ontario on Friday December 14th at 11:30am. Private interment to follow.
