Jean Isabel Sanders (McKenzie)
SANDERS, Jean Isabel – Passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Dr. C. Borden Sanders (2004). Loving mother of Janet Stuart (Gavin) of Vancouver and Dr. David Sanders (Pamela) of Strathroy. Cherished grandmother of Heather (fiancé Will Connors), Christopher (Nicole) and Cameron (Megan O’Brien) Stuart, Michael and Robert Sanders and great-grandmother to Amelia Stuart. Jean graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario as a Registered Nurse, where she worked in London with the VON, Windsor and Toronto. Living in Welland, Jean was very active. She was a member of the Welland Hospital Auxiliary, volunteered for Welland/Pelham Meals on Wheels and Blood Donor Clinics. She was also a long-time member of Central United Church. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Monday, December 3rd from 6 – 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 4th at Central United Church, 12 Young Street, Welland at 12:00 noon. Private interment will take place in Grand Bend. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Central United Church or Niagara Health Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
