It is with great sadness and heavy heart that the family of Janet Evelyn Shanks announce her passing after a brief and aggressive illness on Saturday March 10th 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Janet’s courage, strength, dignity and deep love for her family are her legacy to us. She will be joining her beloved mother Lorna Zuest and Father George Shanks. Also survived by her step father Vernon Zuest. Cherishing her memory are her sisters Marlene Sigurdson (Edward) and Carolyn Baker (Tom) Devoted aunt to Shelby and Noah Baker. Also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. As well as her dear Aunts and Uncles. Janet had an amazing sense of humour, great strength and independence. She was most proud of her passion and natural talents for Sewing, crocheting, and crafting. Also her intense love for animals especially her dog buddy. Janet also devoted herself to her work at Frito Lay/PepsiCo for many years making some very special friends along the way.
Family and friends will be received at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N.
Breslau (Kitchener) 519 904 0400 on Wednesday March 14, 2018 from 11 – 1 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at the Memory Gardens Cemetery. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and doctors at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre for providing such care and compassion for Janet.
