James Montagano
MONTAGANO, James Robert “Jim”, Passed away in Windsor on Saturday, October 20th, 2018, at the age of 67. Son of the late Kenneth and Theresa Montagano. Brother to Teresa Montagano, Michael Montagano, Noel Montagano, Margaret Greenacre (thelate Rodney), and Mark Montagano of Calgary (Sophie). Uncle to Katelin (Matt), Dean, Rebecca, Samantha, and the late and much loved Sarah.
Jim is a true Windsorian, Born and Died but had his impact felt in Vancouver, Hamilton, K-W and as far away as Seoul Korea. Jimmy attended Walkerville and Forrester High Schools where he was an accomplished swimmer and his Forrester Band competed in Seoul Korea.
Some of the best years Jimmy relished were his University days, where he Majored in “Too Much Fun” and as a McMaster Cheerleader, his squad cheered for the Ti-Cats on the field for a Grey Cup Championship.
He adored his niece and nephew so much and cheered their great accomplishments and the pride he has in them both. One of the legends of Funny, Sarcastic, Irreverent Humour and always up to join in on any Family nonsense and routines. Another legend was the surprising spasmodic, disco grooving, hip hopping, dance moves earning him the nickname “Little Jimmy Twister” and of course his self-proclaimed alter –ego “JR Superstar”
Jimmy is admired for over 15 years as a volunteer Hockey Coach and cheerleader of family and friends in all their pursuits and interests. I suppose the saddest part of Jims’ life is as an unfortunate Maple Leafs Fan ( just sayin)….
Most importantly is how much he loved us, cared for us, made us laugh and entertained us. Just as important is HOW MUCH WE LOVE YOU LITTLE JIMMY TWISTER and HOW MUCH WE MISS YOU ALREADY. You will ALWAYS be in our Hearts and our memories of you will keep us smiling and crying. You will never be Forgotten. Loved Always.
At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at Janisse Funeral Home (1139 Ouellette Ave., Windsor, ON, N9A 4K1, 519-253-5225) on Tuesday, October 30th , 2018 from 12-2pm. In kindness, donations may be made in Jim’s name to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.janissefuneralhome.ca
