Dearly Missed
James “Jim” Douglas Larson, beloved husband of Audrey, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the age of 85 years.
Jim was born in Medicine Hat and raised in Vauxhall, Alberta by Donald and Eileen Lyon, his Uncle and Aunt, as his parents and sisters had died before Jim was 10 years of age. Jim met his first wife Marlene King in Calgary. They married and had two sons Terry and Arthur. Jim met and married Audrey Lofvendahl on March 25, 1989. Jim worked in hardware stores, assisted in beekeeping, was a projectionist, worked for Neon products, Kosman Pump Service and finally as an instructor and Program Supervisor at S.A.I.T in the Automotive Diesel Department. Jim and Audrey wintered in California as ‘snowbirds’ and made friends wherever they travelled. Jim was a “jack of all trades” and could be counted on to fix almost anything. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Audrey, son Terry and daughter-in-law Roberta Larson, their children Nicole and Michele; Art and daughter-in-law Mary Ellen Larson, their children Reece and Aimee; Audrey’s children, John and family, Rick (Terri) and family, Doug (Sandra) and family, and Scott (Ian). Jim was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Aimee, his sisters Glory and Dorothy, his first wife Marlene in 1971, and Audrey’s son Ken in 2008.
Funeral Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street S.E., Calgary) on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
