MOIR, James A.,
Passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 after a short illness at 88 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Gloria (2017) for over 65 wonderful years. Proud father of Randall James (Kathi) and Catherine Krug (Robert). Dear and loving Grampa of James, Jordan (Cheryl), Shannon (Guy), Jasmine (Gregory) and Great grandfather of Tyler, Paige, Aliya, Hazen, Caiden, and Lucy. Predeceased by his parents Ruby and Roy as well as brothers Allen, Ralph, Ron, and his sister Edna “Teddy”. James was the third generation of Moirs to own and operate Moir Crane Service Ltd (formerly Moir Cartage Ltd.) with it’s history dating back to 1890. James also was past Master of Trinity Lodge No. 521 A.F. & A.M. Grand Lodge of Canada. He is a past President of the Historic Vehicle Society of Ontario and served on the board for many years at Heritage Village and The Canadian Transportation Museum. James was a past member of the Windsor Chapter Barbershop Harmony Society and an avid hunter and fisherman. In 2018, he was awarded a volunteer service award for his 60 years of dedicated volunteer service by the Honourable Laura Albanese, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. Resting at the Victoria Greenlawn Funeral Home (1525 Hwy #3, Oldcastle, Ont., 519-969-3939) on Sunday, October 14, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:00 am. A special thank you to the staff at the Emara Centre in the T2B Wing for your care and dedication. Memorial donations to T2B or the Canadian Transportation Museum would be appreciated by the family.
