OBITUARY
James A. Garland
September 5, 1934 – July 7, 2018
GARLAND, James A. – 83 of Dartmouth, passed away July 7, 2018 in the Q E II V. G. Site. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late John “Jack” and Kathleen “Kit” Garland. Jim grew up in Bridgedale, NB. After graduation from Moncton High School he went on to have a long career with TD Bank until retirement. He married Elaine MacPherson on July 8, 1961. He loved her dearly and has missed her so much. He has moved on to celebrate all his future anniversaries with her. They loved to dance together. His pride and joy were his daughter Jauna and granddaughters, Jaime and Emily. They brought him so much happiness. Truly blessed they could all be a part of each others lives as much as they were. He enjoyed listening to music and especially playing his drums any chance he had. He was a lifetime member of the Austenville Owls Club. His good humour, laughter and smile will be missed. He is survived by his daughter; Jauna Garland, granddaughters; Jaime and Emily Quigley, son in-law Michael Quigley. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Elaine, son; Jay, brother; Lawrence “Brud” and sister; Peggy MacKenzie. Funeral Service will be held 2 pm Wednesday in First Baptist Church, 100 Ochterloney St. Rev. Martin Zwicker officiating. Interment at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac, NB. Family Flowers only, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice. Special thank you to the nurses on 3 west at the Dartmouth General also the nurses and care workers on 4B at the V.G. Hospital for their kindness and compassion shown to Dad.
