OBITUARY
Jacquelyn Rose Zambon
February 19, 1928 – November 7, 2018
Born February 19, 1928 in Port Alberni and died November 7, 2018 with family at her side. Predeceased by her parents John William “Jack” and Rose Jane Mulcaster, who were residents of Port Alberni since 1913; sisters Annis Mealy and Bea Shepard; brother Bill Mulcaster; husbands George Auger and Bert Zambon.
Survived by her children Janice (Bill, deceased) Dahl, Deborah (Jim) Moncur, Daryl (Anna) Auger and Dana (Don) Ball; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Jackie loved her family, her connection with the Lord, knitting and her artwork. Many people were lucky to receive her beautiful hand painted greeting cards. She loved to walk and spent hours walking on the dyke, sometimes 2 to 3 times a day before her declining health made it impossible to continue. Until recently, she was a regular at Tim Horton’s, meeting every day at 2 PM with her friends and family. She even wondered why they had to be closed on Christmas Day. Jackie was a member of AA for many years and made many life long friends. At the age of 50, she gained a passion for yoga and began instructing the practice.
Jackie was a proud grandmother and great grandmother to each baby born into her family and was thrilled with the arrival of each of them.
We will miss her, but know that she is happy and healthy now and is resting where she wanted to be… safe in the arms of Jesus.
The family would like to extend their upmost gratitude and thanks to Dr. M. Puts and Dr. W. Johnsen for the excellent care they provided, as well as a special thanks to the caring staff at Ty Watson House. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie’s memory can be made to the Alberni Valley Hospice Society, 3088 3rd Avenue, Port Alberni, BC, V9Y 2A5.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, 5360 Josephine St, Port Alberni, BC, followed by a memorial gathering held at Smitty’s, 3426 3rd Avenue.
