Poirier, Jaqueline (1930-2018)
The family announces with sorrow her death in Sudbury, Sunday, April 1st, 2018, at the age of 88 years. Daughter of the late George Poirier and of the late Claudia Poirier (née Lamarche). Predeceased by her brothers and sisters Léona Poirier, René Poirier (late Rita), Lilliane “Babe” Lachance (late René), Gaetan Poirier (late Alice) and Reverend brother Gérard Poirier s.d.b. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews Denise Carré (Claude) of Sudbury, Gisèle Gratton of Nepean, Denis Lachance (Sharlene) of Sudbury, Claude Lachance (late Jan) of Hamilton, Colette Graham (Randy) (late Ian Carmichael) of Sudbury, Anne-Louise Lachance (Monique) of Sudbury André Lachance (Suzie) of Sudbury, Daniel Lachance (Sue) of Garson and Jacques Poirier (Marlene) as well as by 13 great nieces and nephews. Jacqueline retired after a successful career as a legal secretary, having worked for several lawyers in the Sturgeon Falls area. Among her many interests and hobbies, she enjoyed boating and snowmobiling on Lake Nipissing, eating at the local Chip Stands and she always looked forward to the moment of the day when she could enjoy a cold beer or a gin and tonic. She did many years of volunteer work with the Cancer Society. She was also a great traveler throughout Canada, Europe and Asia always with her companions Ralph Garland and Evelyn. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date and are in care of Théorêt Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Tanya, Michelle, Rachelle, Mary-Jane, Lori and staff at the Pioneer Manor, Sudbury for the excellent care and compassion provided.
