Jack Sproat (Sproat)
Jack Sproat was born May 21, 1950 in Ayr, Scotland. After almost a year of battling lung cancer he passed away, at home, surrounded by his family. Jack is survived by his wife, Brenda; his daughters, Heather (Marc LeBlanc) and Jackalynn (Jeff Clugston); step-son, Ray King; grandchildren, Calum, Aaron, Liv, Raven, Kenna, Brett and Dax; sisters, Josie, Linda, Ellen and Pearl; brother, Alex; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William Sproat and Essie Gibson; and brother, Billy Sproat. In 1973, he married Brenda Peterson. After they returned to Canada, in 1975, he joined a soccer league that he was a part of for many years. Jack devoted much of his free time to golf, camping and spending time with his family. He worked for the City of Medicine Hat for 32 years before retiring in 2012. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Pete Ball and Ken Pirie for all of their support. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A private family time of remembrance will take place.
