MAYNES – Isabelle Jean (nee Ferguson)
May 01, 1938 – April 12, 2018
We are saddened to announce that Isabelle Jean Maynes (nee Ferguson), beloved wife of the late Jerry Maynes, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the age of 79 years.
Isabelle will be forever remembered as a devoted wife and mother by her five children: Albert (Cindy), Glenn (Christine), Thomas (Karen), Kim Maynes and Kelly Roberge. She will also be missed by her 15 grandchildren: Ryan, Sarah, Rachelle, Amber, Nathan, Ashley, James, David, Chevy, Cheyenne, Zachary, Kayla, Leah, Jackson, and Hunter as well as 16 great-grandchildren and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her brother James Ferguson, sisters Mable Morris and Ruth Drotar, and her parents Minnie and William Ferguson.
Isabelle was a native Calgarian and grew up in the neighbourhood of Renfrew where she attended Stanley Jones School. She met and married Jerry, the love of her life, in 1955. Together, they raised their children in the Forest Heights area of Calgary until 1980 when they moved to Salmon Arm, B.C. There, they owned and operated the Salmon Arm Truck and Car Wash and spent much of their time at their cabin on the beautiful Mabel Lake, where their summers were filled making lifelong memories with friends and family. One of Isabelle’s favorite pastimes was gardening, a love she and Jerry both shared. During the winter months, they would head to warmer weather in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed many friendships as well as some traveling, but always looked forward to returning to Canada each spring. Isabelle and Jerry moved back to Calgary in 2007 to be closer to their family and she said goodbye to her husband of fifty-two years in 2008. For the past ten years, Isabelle has lived at Whitehorn Village in Calgary and was always surrounded by her large and loving family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Whitehorn Village for their loving care of Isabelle and the Agape Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
