Isabel Dorothy Sutherland
Isabel D. Sutherland, age 60 passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Riverview Palliative Care after a lengthy battle with cancer. Being the positive and strong woman that Isabel was, she was able to spend much time with family and friends.
Born in The Pas, Manitoba on May 19, 1958 to Peter Cook and Victoria (Hudson) Cook, she was the youngest of five children. Though born in The Pas, the family’s home was in Grand Rapids, MB where she lived until her teen years when she moved to Winnipeg. Isabel enjoyed spending most of her time with friends and family, joking and laughing. Isabel enjoyed her frequent visits back home and travelling to new places as well as meeting new people. Everybody who knew Isabel knew her generosity, her loyalty and her presence.
She is survived by her husband Ross Sutherland, her children, Kevin (Corinna) Cook, Edwin (Vicki) Hourie and daughter Melody (Mike) Sutherland, sister, Maria Cook, brother, Alpheus (Debbie) Cook, sister, Freda (Kristinn Robinson,) and brother Mervin (Ruth) Cook as well as grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB.
Family wish to thank all of the Palliative Home Care nurses and staff for their care and compassion as well as the doctors and nurses that kept her comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Isabel’s memory to MB CancerCare Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
