OBITUARY
IRENE SALI
February 8, 1936 – October 27, 2018
SALI: Irene. The family of Irene Sali ( Hubic) are sorry to announce her unexpected passing on Saturday, October 27th at the Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 82. Irene was born on February 8th, 1936 at the family farm north of Pelly, Saskatchewan. She was the ninth child born to Alex and Rose (Turta) of Pelly. Irene spent her early years on the farm and later worked in both Kamsack and Regina. While working in Regina she met her future husband Howard Sali. They were married in Regina on July 20,1957. Celeste Yvette, their first born was born in 1959 followed by Sidney Howard in 1960 and Daniel Dwayne in 1966.In 1973 the family of five packed up their belongings and moved to Kelowna where they were welcomed by Howard’s parents and his brother Harvey and his family. Irene was employed at « People’s » for many years and retired in 2000. Irene was truly a wonderful person. She was always cheerful and her home was always open to relatives and friends. She was so proud of her family and always kept up close relations with her siblings and their families. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Rose, her brothers Russel, Nester , Alexander and Eugene. She was also predeceased by her sisters Adeline Schow and Victoria West. She was also predeceased by sisters-in-law Violet Hubic, Adeline Hubic and Sylvia Hubic. Brothers-in – laws that predeceased her include Earl Schow, Roy Schow, Walter Kowch, Ellis West and Glen West. Also by her inlaws – Euphrasia Sali (nee Selinger) and Peter Sali. She is survived by her husband, Howard, of 61 years, children Sidney (Shari) of Winfield, Celeste of Vernon and Daniel(Kim) of Cambridge,Ontario. She is survived by sisters Olga Schow, Anita Kowch, twin sister Ella West and Minnie Raddysh (Bob) Surviving brothers include Orest (Alicia), Ron (Dorothy), Daniel (Phyllis) and Mervin (Kay). As well as, her husband’s brothers: Harvey (Erin) and Wayne (Lois) and sister Lynne Osiowy(Ed). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna on Monday, November 5th, 2018 at 10:00 AM.
