Irene Rose Whitesell
Mrs. Irene Rose Whitesell nee Pilon died peacefully at Seven Oaks hospital on October 20 2018 at 80 years of age in Winnipeg Manitoba.
Irene is survived by her children Perry and wife Linda of Winnipeg, Scott and wife Joy of Winnipeg, Lorrie of Nova Scotia, Will of Winnipeg, Richard of Winnipeg, Kevin and wife Linda of LaBroquerie, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Billy in August 1987 and parents Mary and Fred Pilon.
Irene was born on October 13 1938 in Winnipeg Manitoba to Mary and Fredrick Pilon She married her childhood sweetheart in 1956 and started their family of six one year later. Irene’s first job was at the Regent theatre selling tickets, there wasn’t a movie she hadn’t seen. Then to Co-op implements where she did a man’s job and never complained. Then as retirement came closer she took a job with her son at Scotty’s truck wash.
Irene was an amazing fabricator she could knit anything you wanted or needed, sweaters, mitts, scarves, blankets. She liked to play bingo and the odd slot machine. She was a caring, generous, dedicated and witty individual.
A funeral is scheduled for October 29 2018 at 10 am at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home 4000 Portage Ave Winnipeg Manitoba with a reception to follow after internment at the same venue in reception area. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Irene’s life.
The family would like to thank Maples Care Home for looking after mom and especially Carmie and Karen, and to Seven Oaks Emergency department who took the time to again look after mom, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
