IOLA “MICKEY” PEARL RIDER
November 10th, 1925 – June 10th, 2018
Iola in her 93rd year, died peacefully, surrounded by her children on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at PRHC. Iola was born Nov.10, 1925 to George Albert Hartin & Emma Hazel Clark. Survived by her youngest brother Elmer (Georgina) London, Ontario, she was the only sister to her predeceased brothers Everett, William & Gordon. Predeceased by her husband, Donald Rider and survived by her partner Alec Ingram & family. Will be lovingly missed by her seven children, Betty Lee (Alex) Lindsay, Donald (Liz) Peterborough, David (Charlene) Omemee, Janice Oshawa, Douglas Omemee, Judith Ann (Steve) Kingston and Darlene (Gary ) Raymond, Alberta. Cherished by her grandchildren, William, Donnie, Derek, Sarah, Stephanie, Staci, David, Christopher, Tamarah, Tyler, Danny, William, Justin, Jade, Odessa, Jessica, Jacob & Alexander. Adored by her great grandchildren, Devon, Cassandra, Cheyanne, Liam, Ainsley, Serena, Zander, Jade, Zack, Lucas, Nixie, Boe, Freya, Hayden, Reuben, Elizabeth, Zachery, Emma, Shayla -Marie, Jarom, Eli, Grace, Ezekiel, Finnley, Phoenix, Natalia, Evalene, Linden & Preston, more on the way. Great-Great Grandchildren, Noah & Braydon. Fondly remembered by her many nephews, nieces, her many friends and her Church Family. Mickey was an advocate to protect and love children and raised foster children in her home. She was an active community volunteer and an executive Member of the Omemee Legions Ladies Auxiliary. Truly she was a remarkable woman filled with a desire to love and serve her family and community.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:45pm with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 748 Cumberland Avenue, Peterborough, Ontario, with interment at Emily-Omemee Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Society of Canada.
