Obituary for Ida Mary Elliott (Hynes)
It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Ida Mary Elliott announces her passing. Ida passed away from the Green Bay Health Care Centre, Springdale, NL on Sunday, February 25th, 2018 at the age of 96.
Predeceased by her husband – Augustus Elliott; daughter – Wanda Osbourne; sister – Gertie Davis (Nathan); brother – Herman Hynes (Lily).
Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters – Rosemary Huxter (Harold), Springdale, NL & Tassie Jim (Patrick), Baie Verte, NL; grandchildren – Kent Huxter, Calgary, AB, Stephen Huxter, Saint John, NB, Krista Osbourne, Springdale, NL, Sandy Osbourne (Stephanie), Baie Verte, NL & Justin Jim (Danielle), Sudbury, ON; great-grandchildren – Hayley Huxter, Makenna Huxter, Maia Osbourne, Elliott Huxter & Morgan Rice; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public visitation to take place from Foster Funeral Home on Monday, February 26th, 2018 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM.
Major Gerald Lacey will conduct a private family funeral service from Foster Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 27th, 2018 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow from Bethany United Cemetery, Baie Verte, NL.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ida’s memory to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation, 300 Prince Philip Drive, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3V6.
