HILLABY, Dorothy Viola

Dorothy passed away and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the age of 94. Dorothy was the youngest of ten children born to Almiron and Myrtle Wilcox of Primrose, Alberta. She is the last of that generation but is survived by a host of friends and relatives. In 1943 she married Robert Hillaby of Marwayne, Alberta. To that marriage, three children were born: June Viola, Kenneth Robert and Fae Lillian. Dorothy and Bob farmed in the Marwayne area for many years. Then, in 1965 they moved to Kelowna, BC. Dorothy has resided in British Columbia ever since.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1980. She is survived by her children: June (Jim) Vinoly of Pritchard, BC; Ken (Michelle) of Fruitvale, BC and Fae (Al) Wyse of Terrace, BC; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In 1936 at the Greenshields Convention, at twelve years of age, Dorothy made her choice to serve God and has been true to that choice. She was saddened when, due to frailty of body, she was unable to attend the Little Fellowship meetings. Her acceptance of her lot in life has touched the hearts of many.
Dorothy has always kept the Heavenly goal in view, and now she has attained something for all eternity.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna. Interment to follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
