Obituary for
Hilarie McDonald
McDonald, Hilarie Doris – Died peacefully at Southlake Village, Newmarket, on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Born in Cornwall, Ontario, on May 3, 1952, she was the loved daughter of Kenneth and Patricia McDonald, sister of Murray (Lesley), caring aunt of Andrew (Sara) and Jack. She leaves a cherished Aunt Ruth Orkin in Cornwll, Ontario and Cherished uncle John McDonald (Elaine) in California, and many cousins. Hilarie loved all children, her dog Louie, and family reunions. She enjoyed reading on a wide range of topics and listening to her favourite music. She was loyal to her many friends in the Turner Society and a faithful member of the Newmarket Church of the Nazarene. Special thanks to the caregivers at Southlake Village for their loving support and the comfort they provided for Hilarie throughout this difficult transition. Particular appreciation is given to Natalia and the second floor west staff for their recognition of Hilarie’s needs. Visitation will take place at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2018, from 10-11 a.m. A memorial service will take place in the chapel at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of life reception, upstairs at the funeral home.
