It is with great sadness that the family of the late Richard Alexander announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday September 14th 2018 at the age of 93 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his five sons: Rick (Trudy) in Aguathuna, Gerard (Leah) in Port Au Port East, Bryan (Ann) in Cold Lake Alberta, Roy (Gwen) in Point Au Mal, Trevor (Lee Ann) in Stephenville, five daughters: Marlene (Wayne) Huxter in Stephenville Crossing, Janice (Jack) Penney in Aguathuna, Anne Oake in Stephenville Crossing, Terri Alexander in Edmonton, Karen (Luc) Alexander in Moncton N.B. Also leaving to mourn 25 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Amelia Alexander, his wife Dorothy Alexander, daughter Rosemarie Muzzeral, brothers William, Leonard, Martin and sisters Madeline, Millie, Mary and Hannah. Visitation will take place at Russell’s Funeral Home on Wednesday September 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 The funeral service will take place from Our Lady Of Mercy Church in Port Au Port on Thursday September 20th at 11 A.M. With interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port Au Port. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the nurses and staff of Bay St George Long Term Care Center and of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion shown to their father during his stay. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
