Obituary
Service Details
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.
Henry is survived by his loving and devoted family: wife Trish, son Chris (Robin), daughter Julie (Stefan), adored grandchildren Coryn and Simon, brother Dave (Tannis), brother-in-law Barry (Marlene) and families. He also will be dearly missed by his little partner Rosie the dog.
He was born and raised in Vancouver, where he worked at Pacific Controls for over 30 years. Henry valued his relationship with customers and was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humour. In addition to many other volunteer roles, Henry served for years as Beaver leader « Hawkeye » and was District Commissioner for Dunbar/Point Grey.
Henry was an expert dahlia grower who enjoyed classical music and fine wine, but also loved a good bottle of beer while watching his favourite Montreal Canadiens or Arsenal FC. He was a true character who will be remembered for his one liners, his love of animals, and the unconditional love of his family.
Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Christenson Village for their loving care and support over the past two years. Also thank you to Dr. Daren Spithoff and Dr. Marius Welgemoed for helping us through this incredibly difficult journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society BC or BC SPCA. A celebration of life will be held later in the year.
You are forever in our hearts xo
