It is with deep sorrow, that we announce the sudden passing of Henry Wallmann on Friday, December 14, 2018.
Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elvira and their two sons Mark and David. Also left to mourn are: his parents Henry and Else, sister Christine (Robert), brother John, sister Esther (Steve) Derksen; Elvira’s family: parents William and Elvira Enns, sister Trish (Bill) Klumpenhower, brother Art (Diane) Enns, brother Trevor Friesen, numerous nephews, nieces and many friends.
Henry was predeceased by his grandparents and his nieces: Sarah Derksen and Brooke Enns.
Henry had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and was firmly rooted in the Steinbach Christian Mennonite Church community. He served with generosity as a deacon and was very mission minded. He was always willing to lend a hand. His generosity extended to family and friends. He was often found helping out with the wiring, pounding in nails or juggling a wrench.
What he loved most was being outdoors with his family – preferably going top speed, at least in his younger days. He did slow down a little when he had a family – on a dirt bike, a snowmobile, any kind of skis, and of course driving Betsy the boat. You could always count on Henry to identify a bird call, an animal track, or the species of tree you were looking at. He had a lively curiosity about the natural world and loved discovering new areas to explore.
You will be sorely missed Henry.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Christian Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover Street, Steinbach, MB. There will be a private burial prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Henry may be made to the Christian Mennonite Conference (in memo line: Missions), 478 Henry Street, Steinbach, MB R5G 0J1 or Canadian Liver Foundation, 210-375 York Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J3.
