Helen Ruth Schmidt
Helen Ruth Schmidt passed away peacefully on August 1, 2018.
She had a deep and vibrant faith in Jesus Christ, and we are comforted knowing she is now in the loving presence of her Savior and Lord.
Helen grew up on a farm in the Pincher Creek area. After high school she became a registered nurse, allowing her to do what she did best, care for others.
At age 23 she married Danny Schmidt and they began a 57 year journey together. Raising their three children in different communities they experienced many changes, but Helen’s care for the people around her (family, friends, acquaintances, even strangers) remained the same.
To the very end she tirelessly gave herself to others, and yet she would only credit her Savior, Jesus Christ for anything good that came from her life. And a tremendous amount of good did come from her life.
She will be missed very much – her prayers, her smile, her warmth and the beautiful way she loved those around her.
Helen will be remembered at a Memorial Service at Deer Park Alliance Church in Red Deer on Thursday August 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
