BURGESS, Helen May-Dartmouth- With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dearly loved Mother. Helen May Burgess “May”
Mother of eight children, Wes Burgess (Lu), predeceased by son John Burgess, Jim Burgess (Donna),Shirley Carroll (Hudson),
Shelley Burgess (Sandi), Beverley Cant (Don), Ella Burgess (Peter), Dean Burgess (Ken).
Grandchildren Hudson Jr., Catrina, Melissa, Shonda, Wes Jr., John, Angela, Adam, Robert, James
And several great grandchildren.
Survived by seven of her eight children and sister Lilian Nelson Richmond Hill Ontario and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by Parents John and Alice Thornhill, four sisters and 3 brothers.
May worked as Assistant Director with the Dartmouth Senior Service Center on Ochterloney Street, for 18 years before her retirement at the age of 64.
In lieu of flowers/cards. Donations can made the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia (mentalhealthns.ca). Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 6, 2018 in Dartmouth Funeral Home, 29 Queen Street. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
