The family of Hazel Christine MacKenzie age 78 of Amherst are saddened to announce her passing at home on Monday, January 22, 2018.
Born in Canso, she was the daughter of the late Ludvey and Geneva (Murphy) Greencorn.
Hazel worked for many years as a PCW at MacAloney’s Nursing Home in Springhill.
Hazel will be missed by her husband of 59 years, Ernest; children Darryll, Sandra (Bernie) Sullivan and Michael (Jill); grandchildren Grace, Max, Beth and Sarah; great grandchildren Nigel, Joel and Julia; beloved dog Angel and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by brothers Charlie, Joe, Cecil, Torrey, Darryl, Lloyd and Stewart.
Following Hazel’s wishes cremation has taken place. A service will be held at a later date in Canso, NS.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, NS, 902-667-9906.
