Obituary of Hank Pilgrim
PILGRIM , Hank Kenneth ~ Age 45, of Shubenacadie, passed away suddenly Monday, April 2, 2018 as a result of a house fire. Born in St. Anthony, NL, he was the son of Marjorie (Elliott) and Albert Pilgrim. Being a lover of the outdoors, Hank spent his younger years fishing, hunting or doing anything that found him in the woods. He had especially fond memories of several summers spent working as a fishing guide in Labrador, beginning at the young age of only 14. Hank joined the military at age 17 and was an Air Force Sergeant, based at CFB Shearwater at the time of his death. He was passionate about archery and was very excited to be sharing that enthusiasm of the sport with his daughter, Lily. He was extremely talented and very skilled at carpentry, welding and renovating older homes. Hank was a dog lover and where ever he went the dogs followed. He proudly supported his wife and daughter’s obsession for horses, attending all of their horse-related events, quietly standing on the side lines always with words of encouragement and praise. Hank and his wife, Stacy, whom he called « My Love », were both dedicated to home schooling their daughter, Lily. He believed in teaching his daughter the value of setting goals and helping others to achieve their own. Stacy and Lily were Hank’s « Girls » and were the loves of his life. He is survived by his wife, Stacy (Fritz) and daughter, Lily Autumn. In keeping with Hank’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Service details will be announced at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to your local 4-H Club or to the SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., Middleton, NS, B0S 1P0, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
