Cormier – It is with great sadness that the family of Guy Cormier announces his passing on May 20, 2018 at the age of 74. Born on May 5th, 1944, in Montreal, QC, he was the son of the late Henry Cormier and Marguerite LeBlanc. Guy was retired from Transport Canada, where he worked as an electronic technician in the provinces of QC, NB and PE. Followed by the love of his family, was his passion for music. He was an outstanding guitar, banjo and dobro player. He participated in organizing many bluegrass festivals throughout PE. He is survived by his daughter Ginette; his son Serge (Shellie); grandchildren Marie, Taylor and Rhys; great-grandchildren Austin, Tamara and Tahmeekaa; a special friend Leona; sisters Germaine (Carman), Carmelle (Ronald), Jeannine and Mariline (Camillien); step-mother Julia; by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and the mother of his children Rose-Marie. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Marie; and by brothers Claude and Michel. Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook, NB, on Friday May 25 from 5 – 9 p.m. Funeral will take place on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Parish, St. Joseph, NB. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery
