Greta E. McGivery
1921-2018
With celebration of a life well lived, the family
of Greta Evelyn McGivery, age 97, wife of the late Willard
McGivery, announces her passing which occurred on Monday, October 29,
2018 at the Riverdale Manor, Hampton, NB. She was born in Smithtown,
NB, on April 16, 1921, a daughter of the late Murray and Grace
(Carson) Hanlon.
Greta was a member of the Hampton United Church and always
enjoyed her time with the U.C.W.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn Goldsworthy of Rothesay,
NB; grandchildren; Lisa Clark, Dana Goldsworthy, Amy Goldsworthy,
Brenda Tays, great granddaughter; Sydney Clark, sisters; Marie
Kilpatrick, Shirley (Harold) Bettle; as well as several
nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was
also predeceased by her son Derek, sister; Eva MacLean, brothers;
Glendon, Wilfred, Lloyd and Gary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral
Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A graveside
service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November
3rd, 2018 at Titus Hill Cemetery. Following the
interment there will be a reception held at the Hampton United
Church.
Donations in memory of Greta may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
