Obituary Overview
Forever In Our Hearts
ROKOSH, GREGORY PAUL
September 28, 1981 – January 8, 2018
Gregory (Greg) Paul Rokosh passed away suddenly on January 8, 2018 near Fernie, BC at the age of 36 years.
Greg will be forever remembered by his parents, Bob and Rose Rokosh, his brother Brady (Caylee Dyck) and brother Cory (Kim Sawchuk); his niece and nephew Ivy and Finn; Kim’s children Emily and Gabrielle; his extended family and many dear friends.
Greg was born and raised in Calgary and attended high school at St. Mary’s. After high school, he followed his passion, living and snowboarding with friends in his favourite mountain towns, Fernie and Windermere, BC. His curiosity of the natural world led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Calgary. Greg worked as an environmental scientist for several years at consulting firms before his role as an Environment and Regulatory Specialist at Devon Canada Corporation.
From a young age Greg was always very adventurous and passionate about exploring the outdoors and trying any activity that could get him moving. His family cherishes their many summers and winters together at the cabin in Windermere and on the slopes in Fernie or other local mountains. His many friends share his love of the outdoors, travel, music and dancing and we all loved him for his happy, open-minded nature and genuine presence.
We will always lovingly remember his infectious smile, laughter and endless pursuit of the last surf, the last ride down a bike trail or the last snowboard run.
A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. If friends or family so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to The BC Search and Rescue Association (Fernie and District) www.bcsara.com/donate/
