Grace Marie Bragdon
1930-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Marie (Christie)
Bragdon announce her passing on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Upper
River Valley Hospital. Born in Pinder, NB on January 8, 1930, she was
the daughter of the late George and Celia (Harris) Christie.
Grace worked as a custodian at the Nackawic Elementary School for
several years. She enjoyed gardening and preserving her harvest.
Grace loved to quilt and knit. Her face would always light up when
her young grandchildren visited.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Debbie Price, Fredericton, NB,
Pamela Drost (Lewis), Paula Flemming (Dale), both of Southampton, NB,
Kimberley McMicking (Andy), Nackawic, NB and Jennifer McCullough
(Randy), Harvey, NB; a daughter-in-law, Betty Bragdon, Woodstock, NB;
17 grandchildren, Greg (Loretta), Christopher (Andrea), Troy (Jean),
Jason, Stuart, Alex (Patty), Rebecca, Roberta (Mike), Katelyn (Kory),
Courtney (Damion), Chelsey (Andrew), Dexter (Alisha), Jonathan
(Tsema), Dustin (Dawn), Nicole (Kevin), Emily (Eric) and Katie (Cody);
25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; one sister,
Vesta Thornton and one brother, Fred Christie (Alta); four
sisters-in-law, Gwen Christie, Kay Christie, Roselle Christie and
Marjorie Christie; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edison
Bragdon in 1974; a son Stephen Bragdon on January 31, 2018; a
son-in-law, Wayne Price; a granddaughter, Rebecca Price; brothers,
Harold, Ray, Austin, John, Perley and Robert Christie; sisters, Ada,
Doris, Ella, Nina and Joyce; a special friend, Ersel Bragdon as well
as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral
service will be held at Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, Maple Ridge, NB
on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Wayne Blinn, Rev. Mike
Agrell and Rev. Ryan Farrell officiating. Interment with be at a
later date at the Hartfield Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Grace, the family
has suggested the Hartfield Cemetery, Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church or a
charity of the donor’s choice.
