Obituary of Gordon Aitken
Passed away peacefully with family by his side at home on June 2, 2018 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Alma Aitken (2015). Loving father of Bryan (Nancy) Aitken of Watford, Janice (Tom) Hands of Petrolia. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Rob (Sarah) Aitken, Mark Aitken, Kevin Aitken (Danielle), David Aitken, Theresa (Brad) FitzGerald, Shelley (Adam) Swan and Lisa (Kevin) Peters and his great grandchildren; Cameron, Ben, Avery, Nash, Bennett, Audrey, Asher, Jack, Kylie and Natalie. Predeceased by his siblings, Jack Aitken, Freida Lockhart, Andrew Aitken and Vera Morris. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Aside from his love for his wife and family he was a man of great faith and was well respected as a dragline operator and farmer. In his later years he enjoyed cutting his lawn, spending time with great grandchildren and was still very involved in his church, community and farming.
Friends will be received at DENNING’S OF WATFORD on Monday June 4, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM where the funeral will take place the next day at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Watford Cemetery.
