Gordon Arthur O’Donnell
Gordon Arthur O Donnell, of Halifax, passed away on March 8, 2018
Born July 21, 1940 the son of the late Kathleen and James O’Donnell, and the husband of the late Joan Anne O’Donnell (McNeil) of Little Brad D’or, Cape Breton. He was predeceased by brothers Alfie, Franky, and sister Anne.
Gordon served in the Royal Canadian Armed Forces Infantry in Germany after World War II. He also served in the Canadian Coast Guard for 31 years as Senior Marine Engineer.
Gordon is survived by sons, Michael and Darryl (Darlene); daughters, Claudette and Kathy. As well, grandchildren Ashley (Doug), Josh, Brittani, Ryan (Candice), Courtney (Alex), Adam, Stephanie, Charity, Tasha, Gordon, and Ben. Along with 7 beautiful great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Arthur and Jimmy.
Today we say goodbye to our hero, our idol, our Dad, our Grampy, our Great Grampy. Although you will be missed dearly, your memory will always be close to our hearts. Your humor, will forever be shared in all of our thoughts. Thank you for the wonderful life you’ve given us Dad.
Services will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home Main Street, Dartmouth NS. Visitation from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday March 14, 2018 and Service at 10am on Thursday March 15, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
