It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our incredibly strong, beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother, Glenys Elizabeth Bonia (Hammond). On Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, Glenys passed from complications of MS, surrounded by family and friends, at Chancellor Park in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Predeceased by her parents William and Joan Hammond (Hiscock), brother Fred Hammond, her special uncle Walter Hammond (Barbara), and uncle Fred (Butchie) Hammond (Marg). Leaving to mourn her loving and devoted husband Adrian, cherished daughter Kim (Chad), and her adored grandson Quinton; special pup, Petey, as well as many dear friends and family, including, Melissa Barker (Wayne), sister Judy Hammond, brother Dave Hammond, cousins Walter Hammond (Mary), Peggy Combden (Glenn), and Lisa Stagg (Jeff). Throughout her life, Glenys overcame many hardships and struggles, always with a smile, sheer determination, and enormous strength that she showed right to the end. We would like to thank Dr Michael Furlong and Dr Mark Stephanelli for their care and compassion over the last 30 years, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Emergency Department of the Health Sciences Centre, along with the doctors and staff of Chancellor Park during her final hours. At Glenys’ request, she has been cremated and visitation will take place at Caul’s funeral home, 1118 Torbay Rd, on Friday, August 10th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A private celebration of Glenys’ life will take place at a later date.
