Obituary of Glen Heisler
November 24, 1925 – December 14, 2018
Glen passed away suddenly in the Regina General Hospital on Friday, December 14, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Anna; siblings, Norma, Marjorie, Douglas, and Wallace; as well as his first wife Margaret (Bessie) in 2001. Glen is survived by his wife Joan Leighton; stepson Greg Pollock; daughters, Carol (Bill) Duncan and Gail (Leo) Carteri; grandchildren, Stacy and Shanda Duncan, Antonio, Christian, and Nicholas Carteri; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Ashton Wood. Glen was born on the family farm in Rouleau, SK. In June 1943, he joined the RCAF, serving as a mid-upper gunner with 434 squadron until wars’ end. Returning to Regina, Glen was the manager of Agriculture of Federated Co-op. He spent his last 26 working years with the Regina Commissionaires, posted at the Regina Airport. He was well-known for his welcoming, open and friendly disposition, and always had a story to tell. Glen retired at age 85. A Celebration of Glen’s life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. We wish to thank the staff and volunteers of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Veterans Unit 3-5 for the loving care Glen received during his stay.
